Perk Point Wish List
« on: December 19, 2001, 11:02:00 PM »
Hi All,

Thought I create a catch-all category for Perk Point wishes for 1.09+

*Vehicle Perks (These are a Must!)*

Self-Propelled Artillery:
Hummel Sd. Kfz. 165
Sturmpanzer IV Brummbär Sd. Kfz. 166
M7 Priest

Amphibious Tanks:
DD Sherman

*Ship (Boat) Perks*
Corvette
Destroyer
AAA Cruiser

New Planes(these seem less important to me than getting something in the boat and tank area to spend perk points on):

ME 109K4
Gloster Meteor Mk3
Spitfire Mk. 14
Heinkel HE 219 Uhu

What think ye?

- Seagoon

PS: As an ex-AW player this game is a dream come true, thanks Hitech!

Everything you named minus the spit 14 are easily killed.  I see no point in perking any of those.  Open topped artillery are very easily killed, brumbar is by far lightly armored maybe a Sturmtiger would better fit that area.  Stuff like a JSIII or a Jagd/Kingtiger would fit, but I would not want to see them until the armor model was souped up some.  Now adding a perk ship would be a good idea but then again a sing loaded tiffie or whatever comes in and sinks ya rather easy.  So now is not the right time for a perk vehicle even though i would love to see them.

Sachs,

Thanks for your reply. I agree entirely about the Vehicle and ship models both being too wimpy. I'm too am tired of watching Rocket firing tiffies sink a CV (woo-woo watch out CV these babies have 60lbs of HE each!) and 20mm cannons wipe out a Pzr IVs in a couple of passes. I'm also tired of hangers that require 20+ 75mm HE shells to blow up. The modeling leaves a lot to be desired, but I would still like to see Self-Propelled Artillery in the game.

I believe that giving GVs the ability to strike ground targets from a distance, and to pack a greater punch would be a great Perk. I also believe getting some variety into the naval dimension is vital, even if it means we have to endure the paper sided boats until the modeling stabilizes.

I included the Uhu because I also believe that getting radar carrying night fighters into the game is a must if the night is ever going to be anything but an inconvenience we all wish would pass even faster.

*poof* you wish has been granted  ;)

Seagoon, even though I'm sure some luftwaffle will argue with me, the Aces High version of the Me109G10 performs exactly the same as the Me109K4.  The only differences are cosmetic.

The argument that Self Propelled Artillery is too wimpy to be included in this game sucks...

It should be, as Osty should be massively vulnerable to even .303 fire, since its open topped. Artillery is designed to fire in an indirect fashion, and thus to be guided by forward spotters. Not being driven straight into an enemy posting, takin huge amount of damage and vulch ppl!

Bringem on!!

Hi Stomper,

That's what I was thinking. Indirect fire from something mounting at least a 105mm. It would have the added benefit of actually using aircraft for one of their primary roles - recon and artillery spotting.

Bring the Meteor!
Faster than a mustang, slower than the 262, has cannons in the nose and turns on a penny it would certainly be an interesting choice.
The Spit14 too, 40 mph faster than the MK9, the greatest climber in the game and turns like the MK9, it would be what I save my perks for.
As for a perk bomber and the night aspect, its all quite interesting. A NF mossie and the UHU with Schrage musik?   :D
And its about time we get some artillery. It would certainly see some use, since many of us have a 1000 perks stashed somewhere.
Then I humbly bring forth my old idea about the V-1 being buyable for a couple of perks.
Good thread  :D
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

Sturmtigers are just godamned SCARY. Hell those things get near enough to your Panzer IVs and they could fire one of those Depth Charges and blow away you and your 3 panzer mates.
