Not roses Den, but brambles, where black berrys come from :)

We have some kind of blackberry here that doesnt have the barbs but they do have huge seeds!  I think I prefer natures method over mans in the case of barbs.

canon D10...woohooo. We need to start an O'club Canon D10 appreciation fan club :)

Hehe, I would join, but I recently replaced my D10 with a 5D Mk2 for portrait work and an EoS1D Mk3 for Sports/Action...  I would consider selling my 10D...  But in all honestly, I've ran more then 1.5 million images through it and I'm on my fourth shutter assemby.  So, it's really not much more then a paper weight at this point.  I tend to use my camera equipment to death.

Here is one of my favorite critters to photograph; Pika, they are a threatened species only found in high altitude rock fields where they make their nests.

I've sat on a lot of rocks on cold mountain mornings trying to photograph these guys.

And this weekend I found a HUGE Beaver lodge with lots of fresh sign around it.  I sat there for 3 1/2hrs at dusk waiting, they never showed, didn't get a single shot.  I'll try again though, I know they are there.

Very nice Saggs, very nice indeed. I bet it is not easy to get close to those Pikas.

Yeah they're impossible to sneak up on.

The trick is to let them get close to you, I pick a spot (early morning, or late evening, when they are most active) were they are likely to come pick grass (for their nests) and just wait very quietly, and very still.  That shot I was about 10 ft. away, don't think he ever noticed me there.  Probably though I was just a funny looking rock.

Beautiful pictures, thanks for posting them. Especially appreciated the kite pics, I spent a few years in Wales looking after Milvus milvus.

They are dominating the food chain round here between oxford and london, Simba! Ten years ago they were introduced to the wildlife here and looked like they may fail to get a foothold, but now I see them circling over our village every day! Thanks for looking, I'll try and get some more up. It's been hard to get out lately as it just keeps raining.
