Captured bombers

HOw cool would it be....if for a certain perk price you could take up a "captured" enemy bomber. The icon would show up to the opposition as their own color.

I don't think it's too far-fetched as this really happened in the war.

Perk price....about double the ME262.

You would show as friendly icon color to your team and the enemy.

As a little touch; the American bombers could have German markings and vice versa (just on the skins).

What say you all?

Would not have happened in WWII effectively enough, and theres no use for it in-game, everybody would just start shootin' at their friendly bombers just to see if its a 00ber S3cR3T CaptUr3d BomB3r

Actually, it would lead to a lot of people saying hello to their friendly bobmbers to see if they get a reply.

It was done more frequently than most would be aware of...

Check out some of the skins they were painted in, the German P-51 was quite cool.

These were not flown in combat. They were flown to various units to introduce them to the enemy.

The most the LW did was fly a few captured bombers alongside US formations and radio their position in to their own fighter bases, but even US bombers became wary of strange bombers moving into formation with them.

I repeat: horrible idea.

The Italians had it and the local fuel essentially ruined the engines etc.  It didn't fly much.  And as Krusty said, the captured bombers were not flown on bombing raids, but were used for training purposes
