PCI slots
« on: December 03, 2009, 02:32:16 PM »
Do these have a priority system?... I have a sound blaster card and have recently bought a USB2.0 card (only had USB1.0) and was having issues with calibration.... Before I bought the USB card I had a powered hub but still seemed to have issues with losing calibration...I put this down to running the hub off a USB 1.0....so bought the card.....now however when I start my machine I have to ensure I have the hub disconnected or I don't have sound.....to add to my frustration I still lose calibration from time to time...it is like the hub loses connection for a fraction of a second. This doesn't happen a lot but does happen

So original question....do the pci slots have a priority system?

IRQ conflict in the BIOS? Take a lookie inside the BIOS and see if its set to assign IRQs or if it is allowing the OS to do it.  You can also manually set what get set to what IRQ
