Lets see whos in favor of giving pilot control of only 1 gun station instead of commanding all guns to look same direction!

As a fighter pilot u only control whats on your wings and you take your chances against everyone else with that and so should the buff pilot, you goes up with one station and take yout chances!

Well for starters..buffs didnt just have 1 person..so limiting them to only firing 1 gun is far from realistic, a b-17 only being able to defend itself with just 1 or 2 fo cal against a fighter that usually has at LEAST 6 is well...dumb.

NOTE: not ALL guns look in same diretion, the only guns the pilot can far at you are the one's that can swivel to your direction.

It would be much better if they just made it so that the other guns firing with you are less accurate.  Seems to me that in real life it would be hard to coordinate all gunners on a single aircraft with the exact same precision.  Especially if there is more than one aircraft.

IIRC Pyro or HiTech stated some time (urr, might be long time) ago that the buff guns are not coordinated but fire with a shotgun-like effect?

Though I also remember someone mentioning that the bomber gunners have too large firing arcs.

Somewhat vague, eh? Anyone willing to search through some old posts? I'm too lazy  .

Well I've seen Pyro say they work via area hits, the main reason for their high lethality.

"area hits"???

Anyway, yes the buff guns do have some VERY generous firing arcs - through wings, fuselages, etc.

In real life buffs hardly flew alone as in AH.
So the better guns are a kind of compensation for the not existing cover of a formation.
Noone would fly a buff in AH with realistic guns.;-)
So we could be happy for this automatic guns.

mmmm fighters rarely patroled alone, but i dont see fighters getting enhanced guns. Fighters have to live with their limitations
so should buffs. either all planes have thier
RL(as close as possible) limits or might as
well bring in the what if planes.

in all honesty, I dont give a damn if the buffs were 200% tougher in AH than they were in RL. But to have turbolaser with perfect convergence at any range is just WRONG. A buff should rely on DEFENSE to live, not on OFFENSE.

Let the buffs keep their range boost, but get rid of that ridiculous and UNFAIR hitting power. A P-47 with 8 guns at convergence has to hit you more than once in a 6 position to pop you, a buff just needs ONE ping to break off BOTH wings, tail and wreck the entire engine(s) in a hi angle, hi speed, long range shot.

Whels - a lone buff against a lone fighter in real life would be dead meat.

Actually the other day I decided to do a buff mission (the first time ive done this since I joined Aces High on the first beta day)

I always thought buffing was something hard like it was in WB 1.11
but it was incredibly easy, I sunk a CV and destroyed 2 FH at a nearby airfield, and killed 2 fighters with ease.
I ended getting low actually LOOKING for fighters to shoot down and vulch, when I finally ended up getting shot down by a typhoon (who I also took down with me)

I think they should reduce buff guns lethality and INCREASE armor.

Animal - it depends what buff your attacking and who's attacking it. I'm sure you know that if you have patience, you can take down a buff with ease.

Nath-BDP is very good at this - in the TA my brother was flying a b17 and nath would keep about 1.5k above him and then invert, before pulling back on the stick. Twice he destroyed the buff in one pass.

heh, since you mention that Nath bastard   ...

Last time I met his 109 190 LuftWaffle whatever in the JU-88 I was flyin', I had about one or two seconds of time I could fire at him before my wing was flying a different direction from the rest of my aircraft.  Maybe he could charge perk points to teach a class on killing buffs for the rest of you dweebs!

so should it be in AH also. but in AH a lone buff has a very big chance of winning multiple single fighter attacks.

a lone buff should = ded buff(most the time).
