Country change time in the Early, Mid, and Late War arenas is 1 hour.

If someone wants to call out a mission to the other country, and they really are hard core about it, there is no way to stop them.  Cell phone, text messaging, Ventrilo, and so on are just a handful of ways to get the message to a buddy.

On the other hand, this issue is not as widespread as many players thinks it is.  There are a number of players who are incredibly paranoid about this.  i.e. "If I get shot down in a mission it has to be spies that caused it!!!"

I am not saying it does not happen.  It does, but it is doubtful anyone could devise a system that can prevent it.  Give it your best shot.

Currently, the best way to stop it, is to shoot down the other guy before he shoots you down.  Ta-da!

Oh gah, how true this is.  It was also funny to see all the people saying "it's a conspiracy against (put country here) because they saw us getting close to winning the war" after the arena reset yesterday.

best way to defend against fiters its to be low.  let them worry about diving into the ground and avoid the buff guns.

nobody likes a "legoman", but wut if every time someone goes from country to country they are not allowed to communicate (text or talk) wit ANYONE for a day or a even a 2 hours. I'm assuming most players are male, an i dont think not being able to watermelon chat for a lil while will anger many unless there intent was to imediately tell other country some "important" info.

of course the hardcore phone texters will prevail. but this may limit spys a little.

.02 cents

This would ruin comms for the 99.9 % that change sides simply to find better fights.

And how are you going to stop external communications?  Ventrilo?  Text Messaging? and so on.  Disabling comms for someone wanting to really do this is a waste of programming effort.

Spys do not win.

Not to be antagonistic about it,....

I look at it like this.  If you want to fly bombers to a target and be guaranteed to get there without any enemy planes coming after you, then maybe you should go to the Training arena and play there.  You cannot be shot down if you go there.

Now, I will ask, what is the real problem?  Getting shot at is part of the game, regardless of how who is shooting you got there.  This is a sincere question.  I have no idea why anyone would get so worked up about being shot down, when they are perfectly capable of defending themselves.

Unless they see you, then you're nearly always dead, depending on how many escorts you have. On the other hand, if you eschew the instant gratification and go to cloud level, most of the attackers will be from co-alt or less, mebbe even dead-6, hanging on their props quite often. Loiter over a base, and they will get to you at any alt

how do the spies not win? they get they're informant gratification an they ruin the method of surprise for the intended country.

there is no real problem that can be fixed here as the thread starter already stated. my original intention for joining in this particular thread was to defend the strategic point of view in AH. and rather than pointing fingers an insults was to present possible solutions.

what's really getting my goat though is that people are repetitively stating that because someone likes using the method of surprise in attempting to capture bases, that they don't welcome ANY opposition and that they should just go play in the ball pit.

as the furballers state there opinion, strategic "tools" will also present ours. :salute

They don't win because they are pathetic squeakers who haven't the where-with-all to compete in a GAME with even odds...a sad assessment of today's youth, alas

Spies exist in people's minds as something they can blame their failure on. The guys that really do spy seem to be pretty quickly outted by the community and are in a minority. Being paranoid of people spying on you in a game must really suck.  :frown:
