A WTF moment...

Well, thankfully, I finally got my PC back    But I hooked it up and my monitor only has a "No Input Signal" I've removed the GPU, still didn't work, I don't even get to the BIOS screen. I have also tried my VGA cable to see if it had any luck, nothin. The same thing happened to me when I disconneted it last week but it only did it for about 45 seconds, anyone got any ideas as to why it refuses to work now?

My latest problem with no signal was my new DOA vid card. Try reseating it.

do you have an extra card to swap out??   its hard to help when you cant even get into the bios menu, but it sounds like your card took a dump

And I just got to the BIOS menu, once....   it froze there and wouldn't do anything though

I got no idea WHAT the heck is going on. I took the card out again and used the onboard, it went to the BIOS screen, again, I couldn't do anything with it, but I let it keep going and I thought windows was gonna boot... nope, just rebooted to the BIOS and continued that process. I turned it off and back on and now nothing would appear, tried clearing CMOS and it didn't help. I'm wondering if maybe my CPU or HDD is toast...

its locking up in bios?? wont let you in? is it password protected? maybe your MB needs to have the bios flashed with the latest update, or the MB is having issues,can you load the default bios settings? this is puzzling me to lol

not password protected, can't flash the BIOS,the default BIOS settings SHOULD be reloaded, I got a dual BIOS mobo and if I clear the CMOS it is supposed to revert back to normal.

well its not your HD, it will still post (bios) even if its unhooked, sooooooo its beginning to sound like a bad MB, possibly someone reading this thread can help you out more than i can, I'm puzzled

Same here, I've had a few of these symptoms (getting to Windows loadup then rebooting) on an older computer, but I eventually gave up and put all the parts into a different chassis, I think it was a bad mobo.

usually a bad motherboard will not boot up period. Usually a bad hard drive will either make clicking noises or will load into windows but the performance is horrid.

When a system passes bios checks and starts to load windows and THEN reboots by itself to start the cycle that can be a couple of things:

- windows has been corrupted. Usually it is one of the main windows startup files that is missing. Try booting to a windows CD and going to DOS.. if it does without rebooting then you know its windows.

- overheat issue. Many (if not all by now) mobos and video cards have built in sensors that detect when a card or mobo are overheating and shut down the computer or restart it to save your hardware. Check the fans to make sure they are working properly and also open the side of your computer and put a high power desk fan to blow on it at max while you boot it up to see if its this.

- you said it came back from service? if so there's another possibility: your RAM got swapped. And the ram sticks they put in your system are either crapped out, have the wrong voltage setting for your mobo or could even be not very compatible brand for your system. -ALTERNATIVELY : sometimes shops try to be sneaky or the techs got bored and they overclocked your ram and now your system aint liking it (also causes overheat issue).

It isn't a corrupt windows, I can't even get to the pre-boot screen where it runs through all the checks, and IF I am lucky enough to get to the BIOS menu it will not take commands from my keyboard.  It did not come from service, it came from my cousins house where I had to leave it, but it SHOULD NOT have been tampered with or used, I had already disconnected it, I'm wondering if my uncle caused seom "handling" issues

Are you getting past POST?
Are you getting POST Beeps (beeps of death)?

If you're getting the 2nd, google the beep codes for your model comp and figure out what it is (on a seperate comp of course).
From the sounds of it, it seems to be a mobo issue.

No I am not even GETTING to post, I can only get to the BIOS menu if I'm lucky, then it goes on and reboots and goes back to the BIOS menu, but I can'e enter into anything!

Sounds like uncle might of dropped it, if it worked fine before and you unhooked it, Then he brought it to you it should of just booted right up, i think you need to ask your uncle if he dropped it. other than that i think its toast. did he ship it to you or bring to your home?  did you see any kind of damage from possibly being dropped?
