Film viewer ??
« on: December 06, 2009, 11:44:31 AM »
I know skuzzy...I know.... Is this latest version (2.17)one of those that won't play film from previous versions?.......I think I know the answer...but you just never know.....I filmed a couple of sorties last night and all was good but those that were filmed prior to the new release won't work...so just confirming.

I was checking things out last night... It seems that the only film that have a problem are the few that I have been using in my movie making attempt....not sure why this would be.....anybody have an idea or answer for this.

It says film viewer experience a problem and needs to shut down.

Most likely a terrain issue or something to do with the new version of HiRes textures? I don't know.
And I don't know much, but I do know this. With a golden heart comes a rebel fist.

yes at first I thought this also...but on further investigation it only seems to be the four films I had been working with before the new 2.17 install...weird one..just can't work it out....I liked the fighting in them also which is the biggest and really only issue with it.....doesn't really matter though, I'll just have to try and gather new footage.

I just played a film I recorded on July 30, 2009.  Plays fine.  Could it be a terrain in the film not being updated in your game installation?

I have quite a few films, some of which go quite a ways back. Last week some of them (mostly new films) would get the error...aces high film viewer has encountered a problem and needs to shut down. Tonight I uninstalled AH & did a fresh install w\o all the patches, etc.....
I saved all of my sounds, settings, terrains, films, etc & got the game going. All is well. That is until I tried to watch films. Now all of my films cause the film viewer to shut down.   :furious :cry

I have the same problem. Tried the same fix, even new films crash it.   :( will it ever work again?
