This 1/8th scale Merlin V-1650 is the centerpiece of the Cabin Fever Exposition this year. Dudley Henriques tells me that it actually fired up and ran on the first try.

Amazing work.

I'll be impressed when he makes a fully operational mini- R-4360 Wasp Major engine.

Just joking.  :D  That mini merlin is pretty freaking amazing.  Thanks for posting it.

yea that is neat, going to check it out. at the lebanon county expo fair jan 26th. I was supprised at that, it is only five miles from my house and nothing ever happens in lebanon county.

Definitely a piece of amazing work. Now if we can just get him to construct an accurate P-51 or Spitfire to wrap around it  :) .

About 15 years ago there was a guy who built an Alfa Romeo (might have been Lancia or Ferrari but I think Alfa) in about 1/8 scale that was radio controlled.  It was not a kit, scratch built, with a scale engine similar to that Merlin.  Scale tube frame, scale aluminum body, scale drum brakes, scale everything.
