Just to throw water on the 357th v 357th threads
« on: December 08, 2009, 11:31:01 PM »
The "Yoxford Boys" were the 357th Fighter GROUP made up of the 362nd, 363rd and 364th Fighter Squadrons, 8th AF.

The 357th Fighter Squadron was part of the 355th Fighter Group, also part of the 8th AF.  The 357th FS historically were known as the Dragons.  The Green Dragons were a B25 outfit in the Pacific btw.

It is possible to have a 357th Squadron and a 357th Group.

So instead of all the pissing and moaning about who got there first, play nice, and realize you aren't claiming to be the same thing.

Could be right up there with the dumbest, uninformed arguments seen here yet :)

Unfortunately the Death Dragons aren't seeing this fact.   Hopefully, the Yoxford Boys don't change their name AT ALL.

Well these would be the 357th FG Yoxford Boys.  Very distinctive colors on their 51s.

And in this image the 357th Fighter Squadron "dragon" would be the Mustang with the OS squadron codes for the 357th.

Everyone can have their own little bit of 357th that references completely different Fighter Groups, and histories as well as plane markings.  Wasn't that easy? :)

Just to throw water on the 357th v 357th threads

Seems like a waste of good water. I was with the 355th FW from 1983 to 1992 and was in all three A-10 squadrons at one time or other. 357th Dragons, 358th Lobos, and 333rd Lancers. I really hate see real unit names get bastardized to sound squeaker cool like 357th Death Dragons. But it's a game and to each his own. However my take is the historic squadron or group names all have a proud history and it would be cool if folks were respectful of the history and name of these units. Then again I'm an old fart.  :D

Again your sister and I were just laughing at your home movies of you playing dress up in her clothes. Get a sense humor!

You're an example of what happens when a squeaker doesn't get the proper adult supervision.
