A-26 (not to be confused with the B-26)
« on: December 16, 2009, 09:52:59 AM »

I think it would be a fun aircraft to add to the game for more variety (even though variety is already great!)
Here is a little about it for those who are interested:

The Douglas A-26 Invader (B-26 between 1948–1965) was a United States twin-engined light attack bomber built by the Douglas Aircraft Co. during World War II that also saw service during several of the Cold War's major conflicts. A limited number of highly modified aircraft (designation A-26 restored) served in combat until 1969.
The redesignation of the type from A-26 to B-26 has led to popular confusion with the Martin B-26; Although both types used the R-2800 engine, they are completely different designs.
The last A-26 in active US service was assigned to the Air National Guard; that aircraft was retired from military service in 1972 by the US Air Force and the National Guard Bureau and donated to the National Air and Space Museum.

For those interested in learning more about it, here is a link:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A-26_Invader

Again not demanding it, just throwing the idea out there  :salute

Like I said more variety. It looks like a fun plane to fly... that's my story and I'm sticking to it!  :rock

Eh.

It's just an average plane. Everything about it screams mediocre.

Low speed, bad turning radius, almost non existant ords and firepower like that.

Why would you ever want it?

It would be better just to stick to the boston. :D

I for one would LOVE a Vader.

Was my 2nd all time fav. ride in AirWarrior.

If by 'low speed', you mean 'high speed', and by 'almost non-existent ords and firepower' you mean 'very large bombload and very high firepower', then I agree with you.  Of course, my sarcasm-detection-ometer did go off when reading your post :P

+1 on the A-26!!!
Afk for a year or so.  The name of a gun turret in game.  Falanx, huh?
Apparently I'm in the 20th FG 'Loco Busters', or so the legend goes.

lol the a26 with its non existing firepower had the most firepower of any other plane in ww2.   it was fast, maneuverable, lots of cannon/mg and fun to kill running ponies with  :D.  Its kindda like the b29 WITH THE NUKE built in  :x :x :x.  bring it on.

semp
you dont want me to ho, dont point your plane at me.
