War Dogs
« on: December 16, 2009, 03:01:43 PM »
This game needs war dogs. The could sniff out and attack the troops before they hit the map room. Make them a loadout option for transport gv's. Maybe even allow them as loadouts on PT boats and LVT's...20 dogs would fit in the space of 10 men.

Dobermans
Rottweilers
German Shepherds

Would have to have icons so they could be seen running on the ground and defenders could try to kill them.

need war dogs like we need submarines and super carrier fleets  :neener:

I disagree. I believe the submarine idea is great. Plus its very easy to implement.

Really? Please enlighten...how would a submarine be any more useful than war dogs...or airborne rangers...kickstand on a tank?

Bet there were more war dogs than there were submarines.  :neener:

I never said it would be more useful. I merely stated that I disagree with the statement you made (In finer print) which implied the addition of submarines to the carrier fleet is not such a great idea.  :D

They actually have dogs that do this in a few games, I think NovaLogic has some with em, it's fun when you shoot it before the guy with it, he starts freakin out  :devil

Disagree. Not easy to implement. Would need a total redesign of the water, since it's only 2D right now. Also, you'd want a sub that is slower than a CV?

Also, it is my opinion that we should not discriminate animals based on their race. How fair would that be?

If we add dogs, we should also add;

-horses (yes those famous Polish cavalry charges against mechanized armor, they could get to the maproom quicker),
-rats (concealed explosive devices in carcasses, used by Germans in WW2. Could plant next to maproom and watch troops explode),
-pigeons (not messenger, but the bomb guiding ones. Drop bombs and let the pigeons guide the),
-bats (used as incendiary bombs, google 'bat bomb'. Launched from special bat bomb pads on medium and large airfields)
-mules (alternative to M3 or C-47 for carrying supplies. Edit: Stealthy, mules would not stand out from the countryside).

I think these ideas have potential, and will add much needed realism to the game.

OH MAN!!! I forgot the super secret hidden ninja squirrels with cameras and mini-AA weapons that can knock a plane out of the air.

Add Rat Terriers to the list...they can be carried by the bigger dogs and tossed into the trees.

Only if they perk the rat terriers and would have to be along the lines of the perks for the ME 262.

War Dogs could only be put in if the game was big on ground battles and being able to play as a foot solider. Saddly thats not the case. So no.
