Did you have troops in the jeep or supplies? If you had troops that is going to be your problem. All of those people can't sit still in a jeep at once and not make noise so the squirrels get scared off. HTC realized that and made it so a jeep full of troops won't see the squirrels (they are very careful about realism). Also, did you fire your gun at all on your way out to the trees? If you did that scared them off. DON'T DO THAT!!!! The last thing that I forgot to mention and I really apologize for forgetting this is that you need to drive up to the trees in first gear. If you go too fast they will also not come out.
