I had a question today from somebody who had a track IR system and was fighting with the settings. Everytime he would lean forward to look through the pipper, the Track IR system would interprit the movement as "Down" and he virtual head would lean forward and he would be staring at his dash instead.
Of course I told him to deactivate his Y-Axis. It's not really needed in AH, you can get along fine without it. He had also set his Speed to 10 and smooth to 100. He had done this to facilitate looking back over his sholder. I told him to put it back to 1 and 10, the default settings for Track-IR 4 and 5 Of which I have both. I then told him to use my "
No Grove" profile which I created and have posted hear. It's an XMS file, so you will have to re-name it from .zip, the only way I could make it downloadable, back to .xml. But after you've downloaded the file, place it in the same directory as your other Track-IR profiles: In Vista and Windows 7 that would be C:\Program Files (x86)\NaturalPoint\TrackIR5\Profiles.
P.s., if your having a problem getting the link to download the file, right click on it, select "save target as", and a dialog box will open. You can save it to a downloads directory, or right to your track-ir path. You can also change the name at that time.
------------------UPDATE ------------
If you find your having a problem changing the name of the file, make sure you have cleared the checkbox for "Hide Filenames of known extensions" This check box can be found, in windows 7, in the Organize Drop down in Explorer (In the upper left corner near where 'file' used to be in older operating systems), under "Folder and search options". A dialog box will appear and it will have three tabs: General, view and Search. You want to select View, then clear the checkbox next to "Hide extensions for known file types." This will allow you to change the extension from .zip to .xml
Now after you have gotten the file, with the right extension, and into the correct folder, you will need to close Track_IR, and AH. Open track IR and go to the Advanced Settings. Click on titles and make sure that the "No Groove" profile is associated with AH. I Personally have this profile associated with all of my flying titles, AH, IL-2, FSX, and such.
Hope this helps,
InCrypt out.
