Saiteck X 52 Calibration
« on: December 24, 2009, 05:36:07 PM »
So I had a problem getting my Siatek X-52 to calibrate properly.  Whenever I tried to get ti to calibrate while I was on the runway, the plane would go nutz.  After futzing with it for a while it would get straight.  I could not for the life of me figure it out.  Everytime that I would calibrate the thumb slider, as soon as I would click on OK the plane would accelerate and veer to the left like the rudder was not working.  If I did not calibrate the thumb slider it would work fine, but then I could not use the zoom.  I fought with this for a few nights.  Finally it came to me,totally by accident.  If you are setting on the runway and the Auto-takeoff is on it will mess up your calibration.  I just wanted to throw this out, in case someone else has had a problem with this happening.

My X-52 calibrated awesome.   It was losing the trigger, throttle (I had to use the thumb slider on the throttle, as the throttle), 2 hats and buttons on the stick that forced me to the CH Fighterstick.

Calibrate joystick works on auto pilot, in hanger or after login. When you calibrate makes no difference.

I have been using X52 for 4 years and never had that kind of problem.

This sounds like a programming key conflict within AH2. You must have set the slider to an "axis". You have to calibrate ALL axis inputs but any KEY inputs do not need to be calibrated.

The SST software for controlling your stick settings works great for me. Although you can program nearly all keys directly in AH2, if you use the SST software you can get many more functions out of your stick. The Slider is a great example. I have this set to slide left and right out of my cockpit. This is only possible if you set the slider to "bands". So the slider is at 0 - 25 % = left and 75 - 100% = right. This makes the slider act like I was pressing the keyboard keys left arrow or right arrow. 25% to 75% does nothing.

Yea once I figured out what was causing it, it works fine.  Please understand that my X-52 has been thru more than most people would ever put theirs through.  It was just a problem I have had, it could be that I am the only one that ever has this problem, but I was not sure so I put this out just in case.  I love my X-52, it has served me for 4 years of REALLY rough duty.  The four things that I can say that I have gotten my money out of are my Point Blank Body armor, My Real flight 4.5 R/C sim, and my saitak controller, and my HP laptop all four have been all over northern Iraq.  I think it was just that the Auto takeoff was engaged.
