The search function was causing us problems because it hogs the server's cpu, so we disabled it for now. Unfortunately, it greatly diminishes the usefulness of the board not to have a search. A big part of the problem is that we've never pruned the board and we have close to 150,000 posts in the general topic alone. It's a lot like a garage filled with junk. The easy thing to do is just toss it all out, but you know there's some stuff in there that you would like to keep. But if you can't search for it, it doesn't do you much good anyway.
