Abundance of 163's?
« on: December 31, 2009, 08:04:51 PM »
Does anyone else think there are far too many 163's making an appearance in the game?  On the "Baltic" map, in the upper left corner where the infamous A22 vs A21 battles rage it seems that the team holding A21 is able to up a whole horde of 163's from A16 to defend A21 when it is otherwise flat.

Also, with the strat targets being grouped together it seems teh 163's are making that much more of an appearance regardless.

I'm curious if any of the chart/graph/stat humpers can produce numbers for the current tour just to show how the use of teh 163 has changed.

I enjoy the increase of 163's with the new strat system.  I take bombers there for that specific reason.

It's probably as simple as people having something to spend their fighter perks on now.

With the strats grouped together the way they are now it's no feat for us bomber busters to figure out where you're headed, how high you are, how fast you are and how much time we have to head you off.

The Me163 is perfect for the job. It meets all the parameters for bomber formation interception and with people saving up ten years worth of fighter perks, this is a good way to spend them.

163 have surprising range when you boost up to 30k, shut down engine, and glide about..

oh wait.. it is a glider..   :noid

i'd guess that if you are seeing more than usual it's because the idea behind grouped strats is working to a degree... more defenders, because they think the strats are more valuable.

I've noticed this too.  In 4 years of play, I've been shot down maybe once or twice.  A couple of days ago, I was jumped by two and shot down twice the same day.  I guess I need to practice my yank'n and bank'n, NOE style flying.  :joystick:

Rock & Roll squad doesn't count, as they are far too uber to be considered part of the general population.  Still can't believe I was turned down for skwad treasurer.  Warpheonix is such a hardass. :(
