No different. Will just start the mud throwing fanboi vs fanboi arguments...

I personally like ATI.

My last 3 video cards have been Nvidia but...looking at the latest specs, as long as you don't buy an Nforce mobo...IMO, grab an ATI video card.

I have always used nvidia cards, but with my new build i went with a ATI cuz for months i was reading reviews checking specs and ATI won out. for 1/2 the price you get more card with ati and im very impressed with the 5770 card i bought. And i have always been a hardcore nvidia suporter....till now.

I have had both ATI and nvidea cards, like it was sta(ed earlier check to see what your mb manufactuer recomends and run that particular vid card.

Other than that I prefer Nvidea. I currently have sli'd 9800 gtx + vid cards and have no problems what so ever.

one thing nvidia has over the ati cards are the drivers and software, but then i haven't had any problems with the ati drivers and i really havn't played with catalyst enough to decide if its worth a darn. I might look into the nvidia cards again when the 300 series comes out but im sure they are gonna be insanly expensive. My bro uses a gtx285 and the 5770 i got runs as good if not better, gtx285 runs 375$-420$ i paid 175$ for my 5770 that is imo just as good if not better.

After an earlier bad experience with ATI drivers, I avoided ATI for several years.  After being less than inspired by the 9800GTX I upgraded my previous game system to, I decided to go with ATI for the new system.

So far, it's been everything I could have wanted.

im glad evga got away from being nvidia exclusive because their motherboards imho are second to none, overclocking is very simple with the x58 boards even for a noob to the whole OCing thing. very simple, so simple even a meathead like me can actually do it!  :rock

If only they would make some friggin AMD sockets already!!!!!!!  :furious

lulu, if you are looking for a moderately priced GPU that will runs games well, I would recommend the HD5770 as well, get one now and see how it fits you, and if it is not running some things to your standards, buy another one and Crossfire them, it will be the equivalent to an HD5870.

looking around....this seems quite good: Radeon HD 5850. Or this: Radeon HD 5870?
Or this: Radeon HD 5770?  Or ... hey ... how many graphic cards have u changed until now  :O :O :O

Which are ur frame rate with hd 5770 all ah features on?

do 2 crossfire graphic cards require more energy and electricity cost then one graphic card only?

must I use something like a 800 Watt power?  :uhoh

I bought a 600w for my comp and runs my 5770 fine. The only time I encountered studders with the card when I had full bore graphics on was when I forgot I had Eve Online and FS2004 playing in the background. Otherwise I get a steady 60fps.

I went ahead and took the blow and got a HD5870 (yes, it was a big blow  :cry) so I will have a good card that will last me awhile, with this DDR2 rig with only a Phenom II 940 CPU, it will give me FRs in the 100s to 200s depending on where I am.

About cpu processor speed and type? And its relationship with gpu speed?  Bus speed? Any rules?
