there will always be a certain segment who switch just to upset ENY
do people really do this? I've seen it said on the forums a few times but it just seems a bit :noid to me.

cant see any good reasons for not having an idle timout - say 30mins - would eliminate alot of this (if it does actually go on.) alot of people simply forget to log out, Ive seen a couple of my squaddies afk for 3 or 4 days

Killshooter off? No way...too many dweebs out there. You can take steps to keep others from jumpin into your fights...F12 and speak into the microphone, or stay out of furballs.

As far as the change country issue...currently there is a time limit on changing country...once you change country, you're stuck there for 1 hour...but then there are supposedly some real dipsticks out there with "shade accounts".

If you're reliant on ENY for anything I feel sorry for you...and I'm not as good as 80% of the people playing AH right now...try challenging yourself a little...use something that isn't affected by the ENY.

your pointing out why that answer wont work in your opinion.  i personally dont have a problem with ENY as i dont fly anything that is usually affected.  the country switching as you explain it is what bugs me the most.  I can count on 1 hand the number of times i have switched countries in the 10 years total that i have been playing this game.  When i left the game for a 2 year period and came back, still went to the same country.  Its just a game plain and simple and you cant make everyone happy.  All are valid points if looked at from a "game" standpoint.

no Im not pointing out anything 'in my opinion'.......... these are things that have happened in the past before changes were made to correct them....and things that will happen again if you undo the changes.... these are things that happen on nearly every game of this type before changes are made to correct them........

even if 99% of the people play the game in its intended fashion youll still have that 1% who dont......... in AH terms that could be (based on guestimate of 5000 members) 50 people not doing what you want them to do..... if youve been around for 10 years then none of this should even need to be told to you since you should have seen it before

do people really do this?

absolutely people do this..... for those of us who have to deal with high ENY a good chunk of our time, and here for the last week EVERY day for hours on end ........ some of us check the rosters to see who has switched and why the counts have become so staggered..... its very easy to see what players have switched and are now sitting in a tower at some out of the way base......... idle timer would definitely fix this

The Rooks had an ENY of 27 last night in the Orange.  Most people whined and cried and then, up a high ENY plane.  I did the same.  I dont care for it but what are you going to do?  OF course there were 119 Rooks and like 57 knights and about 60 bish.  If you decide to stay on the HIgh ENY side, get good on the High ENY planes.

I usually fly high ENY as it is, but I hate not being able to up a perked ride when I want to because of ENY.

Nice to know  that my kid isnt the only one out there that just thinks he is right no matter what is said, or that he has to be right  all the time.  i stated my opinion and im not the only player in the game that feels this way end of story.  I  have been playing this game for a very long time and some things have bothered me from the begging but again its a game.  Guys like you are the reason i tend to stay off the boards, cant accept it for what it is.

If killshooter were off there are a couple of friendlies that would of got a full magazine or two from me at some point. So no, if only to save myself. I'm sure there are many others that would have done it to these particular little generals, so I dont feel too bad about admitting to it.

Uh Grumpy...the quote thing is easy.

[quote author = grumpy37 link = topic=281206.msg3548398#msg3548398 date = 1262742621 ] <---that is at the top of the text you want to quote

[ /quote ] <--- that goes at the end of the text you want to quote...put anything between them and it ends up as part of the quoted text.

see, I dont even know how to do the quote thing right    :furious

Well, one option I've not yet seen is what they did back in the old Air Warrior days....They had no killshooter in the early days and if you shot a friendly, you got PNG (Persona Non Grata) for 24 hours.  Meaning, if you shot someone down you were precluded from spawning in anything for 24 hours...you might as well log off and come back the next day.  That is the only way that a no-killshooter arena would even remotely work.  Personally, killshooter doesn't bother me and neither does the ENY.  If the P-47M isn't available cause of the ENY, I'll fly the D40...if it gets too high for the D40, I'll fly the D11...If it gets higher than that, I  resort to the P-38G or the 190A-8 or in extreme cases, the Spitfire Mk. I.

You needed to shoot down 2 friendlies within a 24 hour period before you were given PNG status for a 24 hour period.  If you killed more than 2 in a 24 hour period, you were given an additional 24 hours for each friendly kill beyond the first two.  So, if you took off and shot down 3 friendlies in a single sortie then you'd be PNG for 48 hours.  If you were in PNG status, you could still take off in any plane you wanted but your guns would be disabled and you couldn't load or drop bombs.  For fun one squadron night, I shot down all of my squadron mates as we were lifting off and was PNG for almost a week.  Got really familiar with flying the C-47 and ferrying drunks around that week.

Sadly, HiTech has already stated on the record that he didn't like AW's PNG system and we will never see it in AH.

removing the kill shooter not a good idea for some planes.  btw i just got killed yesterday by diving into town full of m3/troops and managed to hit a friendly first, that's life  :rofl.

however it would be cool to remove the eny limit for perked planes.  or at least for gv's, all gv's.  lately seems the rooks have 120 people on, while only about 60 are flying at any time.  couldnt even up gv's due to eny.  fine if you want to limit flight, but gv's? dont make sense.  dont bother mentioning about switching countries, the nites usually switch to rooks (some) then they go to sleep.

semp

I can totaly agree with removing ENY for GV's. Its quite annoying to be having a spawn battle or be in TT having a great fight and then be limited by ENY. Sure GV's are used in missions ever now and then but as I've been told over and over 'its and air combat game and GV's are unimportant.' I don't agree with that but if you think their unimportant you shouldn't have a problem with removing ENY limit on GV's.

Just a thought, what if you were in tower and marked AFK you dont effect ENY. this would only work for those like myself that get called away and end up logged in all day sitting in the tower.

That would be a great idea! If there were some way to set it up where anyone sitting in the tower for more than 3 minutes without touching their clipboard would go auto AFK I think it could work miracles.
