Fuel Tank of Fw190

No fuel tank in Wings of Fw190. Look at this figure.

Oh no! Now the cat's outta the bag. I have been wondering about the L and R wing tanks as well cause I know it didn't have any, but didn't wanna say anthing cause now we'll end up with a 190 that flies for maybe 10 minutes before running out of fuel.

Cool, theres seat heater, just light a zippo and wave it over a hole in the fuel tank.

But why would we have to get rid of LW and RW tanks, it already flies less than P51 and only couple times longer than 109, without DT
Already takes over 50% fuels to climb 20k

Keep looking at the picture - the aft tank (not highlighted) was used on the Fw 190A-8 and it could hold fuel or MW 50.  The AH A-8 is definitely not using MW 50, so it must be a fuel tank.

I read that the tank had to be changed, the compartment could hold either MW 50 tank or a fuel tank of equal size.

Also, AH's fuel gage has 'aux', 'l-wing' and 'r-wing' tanks. They are prolly just mislabled. The aux is really small one, you can see the fuel gage move constantly when using it, hence it must be the fuel tank in place of the MW50 tank.

Oops ! You said right, funked. That blue color was painted by me. I should paint Aux tank also.

Fuel tanks are only "Front trunk tank" (232L) and "Rear trunk tank" (292L), but Fw190 can load "Aux tank" (115L) and "drop tank" (300L). Aux tank can load for Usual fuel or Different fuel --- MW-50 or High-octane gasoline for WEP.

Are 190 wing tanks modeled as real wing tanks, or are these really just fuselage tanks, with L and R designation for some reason ?

If modeled as wing tanks, removing them should reduce wing inertia, and help roll rate, right ?

Fishu - See the bulkhead behind the aux tank?  The oxygen tanks were behind that bulkhead.

Oxigen tanks are small balls after aux fuel tank.

Just what should that mean ?! Rolls fine compared to what ?

Fine or not, I notice a difference in roll response when flying with and without wing tanks. Roll inertia, and how fast the Wurger achieves its full roll rate. How fast it can reverse its roll in scissors. Roll rate is the same, but the roll acceleration is dependant on roll inertia (generally, mass concentrated in wings).

Similar as removing outer MG 151. Of course it can outroll any other plane with 100% fuel and 4 cannons, but that is not the issue here.

It is the eventual roll inertia as a result of wing tanks that it did not have.

Maybe just a placebo effect, but would be nice to know.

I think they have just used a standard way
of showing fuel consumption...doesn't indicate wing tanks automatically. Take up plane up that you know does not have wing tanks, and switch the tanks, I think you'll see that the needle on the gas gauge does not move.
