Wow, that's actually a pretty tough question.  Two things keep me playing the game, one is the history, the other is the people.   The folks here have kept me in stitches going on ten years now.

A few from ages past would include Mathman, Fatty, SOB, Saw, StSanta, Hangtime (his old BBS post about the fight with his cat is one of my all time favorites and a BBS classic IMHO).

In more recent years I have to give a nod to the folks over in the 71 RAF squadron, the few times I've been on vox with them I was in tears by the end of the night.  From my time in the old 475th squadron I still remember Pipz and his singing would always have us rolling.   Delirium has some of the best analogies I've ever heard.  Shuffler is the champion of the bad pun, I'm sure if I sat here any longer I would think of other anecdotes and memories that would sitll put a smile on my face, but I'm supposed to be working right now so I'm going to have to leave it at that. :)

funny thing is, neither one of them ever acts like they think they're "great". they fly for fun, and it seems nothing more.

Best I've heard is when AALoki and A8Tool get going after having too many.  Loki yelling at Tool cause he just shot up the building in town "with the red light" cause his mom works there...  Priceless.

Hands down it has to be BJ229 with Drone a close runner up. Although 9s made a comment once that set me back, "Flying into the sun makes my buffs look fat."

Down near Randolph AFB, where I play a lot of golf and see mostly trainers in the air, but have at times seen on the tarmac (one hole runs down the side of the ummm parking area) a B1 bomber, A-10's, various F-series fighters and even an old phantom. Fairly regularly see those small (but still big) prop cargo planes, C-something something.  Rarely see helicopters. They also train on small learjet-like planes and med sized short-haul commuter planes - dunno what they actually are as modern aviaton is... meh...

Altho a few months ago after the annual airshow (didn't go) was playing at a nearby course and saw a P-38 in flight (and it banked which is what allowed me to ID it.)  That's about as good as it gets.  :aok
