moving the strat targets
« on: January 14, 2010, 06:35:58 PM »
you known what sucks.when your bomber group has its squad night on a titanic tue,you have 45 or so bombers flying and two fighter squadrons escorting
and your at 27000 feet and the strat target your heading to, too shatter the ground, all of a sudden it moves.YUP IT MOVED.farther back behind enemy line.now we decide to keep flying.33,000 ft later fighters have to bail not enough fuel.so what I'm getting at here is is.what if for say.when the japes invaded pearl harbor we decided to move pearl harbor 20 mile east of where we had it. now is that logical.can you do that.so why is it the hitec moves a strat target in the middle of a session.why would you do that hi tec can you give me an answer.because it doesn't make any seance to any of our members.

 :D

But now on topic: No, Pearl harbor wasn't moved... but it was no industrial center facing invasion either.
But factories were moved in WWII ... a lot! Most famous example is the relocation of Russian industries to the Urals, to et them out of reach of the advancing Germans.

I think I'm getting old. I can't sort out what you are complaining about  .... How on earth could the strat target move while you were in flight?

Because they are moving to the rear when a key airbase next to them is being captured. (Right click on map, select "zones" to see which airfields can trigger such a move)

First off the only thing that this GAME has in common with WWII is we use models of the equipment they used in WWII.

Now as to your question, in the GAME the strats are moved so some huge group can't easily cripple the strat for an entire country seeing as there is the single strat used now instead of zones.

Next time just ask the rest of the players on your country not to take bases while your in the air, that way the strats will be there when you get there.

What?!?!? The fighters didn't have enough fuel at 33k to reach the target?  Oh, forgot that you only save gas by flying at 35k.

It is kind of sad they're so inaccessible. When they "retreat" it's almost impossible to attack them.

Either they need to lose MORE than 1 field before retreating, or they need to retreat in a series of shorter hops (instead of a 500mi leap, several 2-sector hops maybe?)

I wish that enemy planes and GV's would be frozen in place as soon as my wheels are up.  That way I can find and kill them easier.  I mean, enemy soldiers in WWII were scared stiff and sometimes couldn't move, so we should have it in AH2.

No its HTCs fault, their P51s didnt have the P38 tanks on them :D

OP,
Maybe tell your country not to capture the base because your in mid mission to hit their strat.............they will either listen or call you names, when I tell them not to drop the FHs they seem to get all butt hurt about it

In WWII they negated being able to fight again after being towered. The trade off was no one was allowed to move their strats except the russians, germans . . . etc.

Your arguement should be directed at your countrymen. Seems they captured a close base while you were in route. What were they thinking.... after all I'm sure you filed a flight plane at mission HQ. In any case when that happened the strat was moved.
