Paint scheme suggestion for Natedog & Superfly
« on: April 29, 2000, 10:41:00 AM »
First, this is not one of the plane requests. It is just a paint scheme suggestion to Natedog and Superfly.

When, and if, we get 190D-9, please try to make it look like this :

The Dora of JV 44, used to protect Me 262 airfields of Allied planes.  IMO, red camo is not such a giveaway as one would assume, since it can be seen from below or from above if Dora rolls inverted (white belly of Niki is easier to spot, IMO). Green camo looks pretty useful, similar to Niki.

There is also a slogan on the side of the Red 1, which says :” Sell my clothes, I'm going to heaven”.

Looks cool, right ? Natedog & Superfly – how about it ?

P.S.
Sorry, JG 2, had to do it

Well, the upper side camo & insignia is nice, but the belly side -ahem- reminds me of painted garage doors somehow

I too would like to see that color scheme when the D-9 comes out.
Here's a supportive picture:

I like that paintjob Hristo!

There are many stories of wildly painted Luftwaffe fighters spotted by Allied pilots.  It would be neat to have one in the game.

Even if it makes the plane easy to spot, what is the enemy going to do.  With a plane that can do 440 mph @ 20k, there is not much to fear.

Of course the Spitfire Mk. XIV should be a higher priority for HTC.  Let's bring the RAF at least up to 1944 before we add more 1945 Jagdwaffe toys.

P.S. Citabria don't be surprised if the D-9 is a bit of a beast to handle.  With about 30% more power than the A-8, it should be a torquey SOB.

actually all german accounts said its handelling was superior to the 190a series

I'm not woried though (hell I want a p38H for gods sake, I'm asking for punishment   )

but any fast plane is hard to kill when flown right. so difficulty level for unter planes goes way up but will fun factor follow?

I think it will

Thanks for support, keep the votes coming

IMO, with icons you really don't have to worry much about camouflage. And at least Richthofen would love it

Here we go again.Fw190D9 was introduced in October 1944. Spit XIV was introduced in October 1944...And I wont say a word more about that, because I know what will happen.

Ok, give us the red-pantied Dora. That's how I like it - leave away that camo crap, we here to fight and not to hide in the skies... let's paint our planes red & purple & yellow to let the enemy know where we are. But on the other hand we got icons...
I like the red belly, something different for a change! Now bring on the Dora please!
