Any suggestions for AMD heatsinks?

Which one of these would you recommend? Do you have any other heatsinks you think I would like? I DO have a handicap, my case inhibits me from having a heatsink over 6 inches tall, so I am somewhat limited on my choices.

Yeah, I have heard a lot of good about that one, but it's too tall for my case 

Another Taller good one you may want to look at is the Noctua NH-12P

Even the original Vendetta?  It's only about 5.2" according to specs, that's 0.8" of space, not much but if there really is 6" of room (not just 6" from one side of the case to another) then it should fit.  I'm looking into using one of them when I get a Phenom X3 720BE.  My case had to be modded for it, but if I can keep it cool it's worth it.

Would be nice to know the exact size of the HS though, from very bottom to very tip and from side-side, not sure actual specs include every little bit of it. (anyone who owns one know?)
Also, just checked, the "Arctic Cooling Freezer" is actually bigger in all then 1 aspect then the Vendetta 1.  It's 3mm (not exactly a big difference) bigger in one way (not sure which, e-bay doesn't say WxDxH)

The original Vendetta may work then, the Vendetta 2 may too but it may be a risk not worth taking

I use this in a PC I just built from spare parts and buying a new power supply. It is used as a media center connected to the TV set ,in a 7 or 8 year old case with three 80mm fans. It cools a AMD dual core 2.8. I don't do any over clocking.  I like after market because I think the stock AMD heatsink and fan suck.

It is somewhat on the budget side but gets the job done for me.
Not sure if it will fit your dimensions and you would need to check.

My Gladiator MAX barely fits in my case, if it wasn't for the side panel popping out about 1/8 an inch it wouldn't fit at all.

I want to go liquid, but I don't have anywhere NEAR the money for it yet. I thought I may get something that would work better in the meantime.

Cost of liquid cooling has actually lowered. But if it is still out of range then try a multi-fan setup. Warning: It will be loud as hell. You'll swear you're flying a b-17 every time you start up. Get a CPU cooler that fits your case (that Artic should be fine. I used an Artic on a build of mine and was happy with the performance). If you have the slots in the front for a fan, install them. I try to use 120mm in the front as an intake. You want the cool air coming in from the front (I'm assuming you have an ATX case) because the cool air will reach the CPU first. Then install the rear fans as exhaust (outgoing). Also if you have IDE cables in the case, replace them with Cobra Cables. That will improve airflow. Zip-tie or velcro (preferably Velcro) any power cables togethor. Again this is to improve airflow (sense a pattern here?  ) I've seen one rig built with 12 fans for a cooling solution, I swear the guy kept a paper weight on the case to keep it from taking off. Either way hope this helps.
