A question for all the guitar players

I was changing out the strings the other day and decided i wanted to try a new brand of strings on my Gibson Les Paul.  Does anyone have any recommendations to a type of strings? Like a brand name or style?

Best sounding, longest lasting strings I've found.  They cost a bit more then Martin, D'addario etc. but I feel they are well worth it.  I prefer medium, but it just depends on your style of play.  I mostly play acoustic finger-picking, but once in a while I'll flat pick the electric too.

It really depends on how you play, my favorite has always been dean markly ultra lights, but mainly because they are they only readily available .008s around; I have a lighter playing style so any heavy strings drive me crazy.
They are easy to bend, so it means they are also easy to break.

 I prefer .009 to .042 for electrics.

Ernie Ball worked for me. Perhaps because I got used to them so much that others felt a little strange. I go for the thicker strings: 0.11 or even 0.12, they seem to give a better Jazz feel.

Ernie Ball Super Slinkies. I've been using 'em for years. Haven't found any better yet, although I'm about to try some S.I.T. strings. Heard they don't stretch as fast as other strings because of the way they are wound or something. Not really sure, the guy at the music store said he uses them and made them sound good.

GHS Boomers.  I use .10s  Get the heaviest gauge you can handle.  Light gauge strings are for wimps.

Didn't realize what a wimp I was using 9s though!

I've found I can get a more effortless vibrato with 9s.

Yep, I have been using Earnie Ball SS for years in my electrics, and D'Addario in my acoustics.

.10s just seem to ring out better.  .09s seem spongy and a bit too easy to bend...  If I wasn't such a wimp I'd use .11s or .12s...
