Well, they were used in the Dunkirk operation, but maybe from across the channel.

Most historical events wouldn't be a fun fight in a game.

The trick is to approach the realism but still make it work for a game.

Because one side or the other was frequently heavily outnumbered.  We don't have that problem.

Next time the AvA runs a PTO setup with only the A6M, I'll be sure to ask for a Ki-61 because it's more fun and more competitive.

It does seem to be the only place for historically based combat these days.  Even FSO has been playing make-believe lately.
