Does any one know if the yak 3 would be a complete new plane model or can it be done like the p47m?

Yak 3 entered service 1944, so it is a late war bird.  More or less signifigant than a PE-8?  Who knows, who cares?  Let's have both! :aok

Yak-3 indeed looks different than a Yak-9, but looks very similar to the 9U (no 'chin' oil cooler).  However, the Yak-3 has slightly better forward visibility, and a smaller airframe.  So there is no doubt that it would require a new 3d model.

Slower than the Yak-9U.  The Yak-3 is nothing special.
