Best/Worst days in AH?

best day(s): Back in the day a squaddie spotted 2 cv's otw to ruin a furball so i upped a set of lancs and dropped them both on one pass 2 sectors apart and saved the day.. Ya I was a bomb**** well b4 i became a furballer.  

anyone remember the old Night Hawks? NHLawman, NHCouger, Bubbi109 ect.. That was my 1st squad. We'd up long bomber missions to the enemy HQ base. Climb to 25k and just shoot the watermelon the entire time. Once we got there bubbi would form us up and tell us when to drop. THere usually was a thick cloud layer so he'd use the icon on the clipboard map to determine when to drop. We usually wouldnt hit jack but but maybe some strat. I dont think success was the idea anyways.

Hunkering down at old festerma at the 1 gv spawn (A21?) where u were pretty much guaranteed at least 20 b4 someone came to nade u. This was when gv's spawned in relatively the same spot every time. Could eat a sausage, drink a beer, with one hand and camp with the other ..

worst day(s): There are plenty of these. Thankfully I don't remember most of them, though i must say I was GREATLY disappointed when I hopped in my C-hog recently for the 1st time in 2 years and noticed they finally updated the cockpit. I know it was well overdue but not big fan of the 6 and 6 high views or the small front windshield.

Best day : When I landed 2 kills in an LA-7 the other day and saw my name in lights.

Worst day : When I tried to vigorously pat myself on the back ... I dislocated my shoulder.

Best Day:  "The Truce" on Donut Map.   Knights and Rooks not shooting each other down and working on getting both countries bases back in Fightertown.   6 hours later, the goal was achieved.   I logged off drained and didn't play for 2 days because of the extensive coordination.   

Worst Day:  My wife saying she was sending in checks in the Spring of 2005.   I caught the shenanigans too late and missed my account being locked by a single day.   I lost 20,000 fighter perks, 17,000 bomber perks and 35,000 gv perks.   I went from Karaya2 to Karaya because of that.   EVen Skuzzy was aghast on the line as he told me the "by one day".

Better Days:  The true friends in this game that I have made.   They don't stab me in the back or "double-talk".   If something in RL has them down, they get a phone call out of sincerity.   No "agenda", just "accepted mutual respect".

worst days? Jeez, the last 3 or 4 times I've been on! Can't turn, can't shoot, can't do squat. 200 off a con flying nearly straight and level and queeze off a 2 sec burst of 20mm and NOTHING! LOL. Manage to work my way back to his 6 after he reacts to all the tracers, line up shot, pull lead, more taters...... sprites all over.... FUEL LEAK! LOL!

Now his buddy shows up and PING, 1 shot I'm dead.  If not a quick kill for him, I'll just go ahead and auger and do it myself. I swear I've been killed by the ground more in the last week than the previous month.

LWO was about like that yesterday or Saturday IIRC at one point, but reversed... over 110-120 Bish and Rooks on eac, versus about 50 knits, and the bishes and rooks weren't even fighting each other for the most part.

Good think was with so much eny 262's were cheap.   

Bad thing was I suck in them and crashed mine.

ah that is totally sad. not juist the limited players but u'd think that the 20 of them could work something out and balance the sides. Just goes to show a majority would prefer an easy milk run than actual competition. Makes me wonder why some people would go with a multi-player game instead of say.. PS3?.  This is why eny was implemented.

Though IMO pre-eny wasnt nearly as bad. The Bish and Nits generally took turns with numbers advantage and map resets but the Rooks had that one day (sunday?) where most of the big squads would have their squad nights and put up numbers normally equal or close to Nits and Bish combined. Though I must admit when I joined the Muppets  while they were a mainly Rook squad the eny made it worth being undermanned most of the time.

my best day was the other night, as it was the first day this year ive had a chance to get on, also it was my first time playing since upgrading from trackIR4 to 5.

no kills, just flew around and got harassed by squaddies.

I have to agree that was one of my all time fav. moments in AH.  The Bishops had captured all three Fighter Town bases and the Rook/Knits joined up to get their bases back.

IIRC the Rooks got their base first and then flew over to help the Knits capture theirs.

Just seeing Rooks escorting a Knit goon to the Bish town was almost surreal.  

I don't think we had a single friendly fire incident until the bases were recaptured.

What was even more impressive was that the Knit/Rooks didn't then go and capture the Bish base in Fighter Town.



My "best" moment was winning my first KOTH.  The night before I had been in the DA fighting in c202's with the two 12.7mm machine gun package and forgot to change it when I rolled that round.

I was a two rounds already won "wabbit" so I was immediately attacked by three opponents as soon as the fight started.  (Dogpile on da' Wabbit!) 
I survived, killed all three, but had one of my guns damaged @ 1/2 way into the fight so I was down to a single 12.7mm machine gun.

I had to kill 3-4 more players (was lucky enough to make two of them auger) and went on to win my first King of the Hill flying a c202 with a single 12.7mm machine gun.


I don't really have a "worst" day that I can recall.  Like was said before the worst day on AH beats the best day at work.

Seriously, this game is full of highs and some spectacular-going-out-or-down-in-a-blazing-ball-of-glory-and-fire low moments.  Gotta love it.

Flying six sectors from home and landing 8 kills...

Lost engine oil 2.5 sectors from home, dead stick 1.5 sectors out at 17k, crash landed at a Vbase without any spare altitude.
