Spartacus - wasted sand
« on: January 24, 2010, 09:19:54 PM »
I caught the premiere episode...it was 300 on acid or something.

Stop action cinematography beyond reason...very excessive fake blood spatter (like some sort of anime)...and nudity beyond reason (not that I minded some of the scenes but it wasn't necessary)...it looks like it was meant for an under 18 audience but with all the stupidly fake gore and nuidity it's obviously adult...

I don't think I'm going to be watching any more of that junk...and I had hopes they would do it some justice...something more along the lines of Gladiator or Rome.

Gladiator meets Kill Bill.  I thought it wasn't bad. I think the blood splatter was meant to be over the top. I always give a show a few episodes to develop a plot and character traits. Better than some crap on TV. 6/10

Liked the story hated the 300/Matrix special effects.
Special effects were overdone and done too often.

And what was with the almost metalic color they used?

Reminds me of what is usually typical for many interior decorators.  They take everything they learned and try and use it all in the same room

I will not watch it again. I expected that type of junk as a show but wanted something a little less than 300ish.

It has Lucy Lawless in the cast, how good did anyone really think it would be?
