I let Hoagi RTB once when he was bingo.

I was then instructed never to do it again.

In my opinion, Bingo is a game that old ladies play.

Now now, if they call out "bingo", do the proper thing and ask them to show you their "card" so you can "stamp and validate" it before they "get up and leave".

I got into a minor furball yesterday, downed a D9, M Jug and a Nik and was taterless and headed home, a latecoming spixteen chased my undamaged K4 2 sectors, tried for pick on landing, missed, so he augered into the dar.

Since when is being in a damaged plane a free pass to return to base?  It's like those that call bingo in the middle of a fight expecting to be let go and return to base.

ack-ack

i have let guys go when they're bingo....especially if it's a good fun fight. same has been done for me. i don't expect it, but i've done it......

You whined.

After calming down and catching flak from everyone on here you tried to play it off that you thought it was really funny.

Judging from your first post, you didn't find it funny (hence the angry OP).

Wahh...

Next time, write the whine post, then instead of clicking "post," just close the browser.

Folks, play nice.

I make it a point to chase planes that run for as long as I can. Even if that means vulching them on landing. Unless I see something on 200 like out of ammo.

You must have done something to pizz em off!

If somebody tees me off with pickin, vulchin etc, I will chase them to the ends of the earth if need be.

Don't care if I die because of it.

I have chased many guys (mostly runstangs) a sector or 2 back to their base and inevitable ack.

If I get em, I get em. if I don't I don't.

Its amazing how far someone will run without turning to fight.

If one of their comrads happen to appear though--guess what??

THEN they turn and fight.

Typical MA behavior.

I figured that if I had stayed and pressed my luck, I would have died, and that I had stood my ground, I would have died, so why fight it?

What if you killed them both instead?

Yesterday, i was flying in my P-47M, and after some fighters, and a P-47N making a pass at some tanks made some passes at the base, loosing my left gear, oil, and my aux fuel tank. After 1 min or so of flying, I realize there is a spit 16, and a Ki84 chasing me. They dogged me for two sectors till my engine finaly died, and the spit 16 got the kill after HO'ing me. How desperate for a kill do you have to be to follow someone for two whole sectors, for the CHANCE at getting a kill? It wasn't even a guarenteed kill for either of them, since there were 2.

If you think that's bad try escaping a furball in a smoking 38. A smoking barn door is like a b@tch in heat walking through a crowd of male dogs. No escape!  :D

Because ultimately in the end ... you died anyways ... you could have at least made a fight out of it while your plane was still working.

After all these years playing this game, I still can't understand the "fear" of dieing in a virtual game where you really NEVER DIE.

There is no shame in putting up a good fight and dieing.

Nemisis,
Were you the only fighter around? I could see this situation being weak if you werent the only guy there. You got to love seeing a 3rd or 4th guy jumping a damaged plane trying to rtb while there is plenty of other perfect birds trying to kill them/take their base.

 :salute

1 or 2 other guys around, and they were just coming in, and had already passed me. They just wanted an easy kill.

What if you killed them both instead?

Then I would have landed with 4 kills instead of 2. Really not important in the scheme of life.
