Make the flak box that follows you on a two second delay.  When you change your vector, you fly out of the target box.  This would be slightly more realistic as far as tracking maneuvering fighters.  Also intensify the ack within 6k of the carrier.  Stay straight and you are cannon fodder.

- If you are a fighter and not following a direct line, you will be much less likely to get the puffy insta-death. 
- If you are making a beeline on the flattop, the auto puffy will shred you right quick.
- Bombers will get punished much more so than they do now, and increasingly as they get nearer to the target.
- No more will a lone buff formation wipe out the carrier in one pass and fly away virtually undamaged.
- CV will now be more vulnerable to dive bombers instead of a single player in a set of buffs.

And please keep the CV group from getting within, say 10k of enemy bases.  :pray
