Fear The 190A-8

Or it might do nasty things to you. Might. Depends on how nice you've been.

Or on if you have an alt and e advantage. Or if you break and avoid the attack. Or if I am behind the stick, no kill then.

Hm. Beginning to feel I need to retract the topic statement

Seriously though, been flying it for a few days now, and it ain't bad. It's purty, it's German and it got great guns and superb roll rate.

It is almost outclimbed by a B-17 though

It's a beauty !

Nothing comes close to the feeling of beating Spit in it in low level dogfight

And just about every dweeb and his brother will turn with you

All I can say Is that I love it. Most after yesterday in a combat vs a La5 and P51, both jumped me. The P51 was victim of a snapshot, wich I managed to get using rollrate, and La5 had to run after some minutes of tense close fight (he always in my 6  ), when I got help from a country mate that got him later

Fw190 isnt the best plane here,it is not the worse, either. Its drawbacks are more that its strongs...but when A5 comes...oh man...

Hehehe the only thing that comes close is beating ANYTHING with a Typhoon in a low level dogfight.

Looking at statistics (plane vs plane), 190A8 should be the most feared plane after the HogC.

During last days I saw some very well driven Fw190A-8. I remember a beautiful dogfight with Kirin.

Man, you have to judge well her E state, even if you are higher. A fast Fw190 is really dangerous with her incredible roll rate and zoom climb.

I look forward to test the 190A-5. I'll probably need some driving-school from JG2 ...
"And one of the finest aircraft I ever flew was the Macchi C.205. Oh, beautiful. And here you had the perfect combination of italian styling and german engineering .... it really was a delight to fly ... and we did tests on it and were most impressed." - Captain Eric Brown

Ya there are no shortage of Fw pilots here..
My squad finaly went out in all FW last night and some of the guys were supprised how handy she is with 50% fuel and 2 cannons.  As I understand it the A5 will be faster, handier and practicaly the same guns if you leave of the MGFFs in the outer gun positions.
Most fun plane for me to fight in my Black 13....
Niki. Still has great cannons but not the kiss of death variety.(you can extend to 1.5 and hes not still fireing at ya) The pilots stay to fight... Has great zoom climb so lots of the good pilots will have a real 3d fight with ya. Pilots in the Niki seem to not be shy about an HO but they dont just rely on that on every merge... A very good match with the 190. Almost alway decided by the Pilots and position, and thats the way I like it..win or lose.

Kieren, of course you're right. The A8 ain't that great compared to say the cannon hug, but still a good plane in the right hands.

Wait til you meet a rotte of two 190A8's flown by udie and bersrkr. Saw a film with them, very good stuff.

Hell, *I* fear 'um, and I am on the same team

The 190 earns my respect when it flies to its strengths... as does any plane, really.  They're at their toughest with a little extra alt or E, and I try to keep an eye on them when they come in late to a furball.

However, I dare any 190 driver to turn on the deck with my Spit.  C'mon, you know you wanna.  Please?

<Watches 1K lower Spit do a hard break turn and reverse at D 5.0. COntinues to watch as I  bleed some of my 500kts in a climb, and watches Spi point itself upwards for a HO while I roll, pull nose down on target. Watches Spit open up at the same time as 190. Watches Spit lose wing and everything else, while I lose a wingtip>

HO THIS BABY <finger>

Santa, you are worshipping a false god.  Learning to avoid the HO is the path to true enlightenment.

Granted, I don't play AH in this post-beta age, but there is nothing better in WB than watching a 190 line up for the HO on you, and forcing them to miss time & again.

Most 190 pilots (not all, mind you) come to rely far too much on the overwhelming firepower that they possess.  Firepower leads to Jousting, Jousting leads to Head-Ons, and Head-Ons lead to the Dark Side.

But really, I think that flying a high firepowered aircraft tends to stunt virtual pilot development.  I flew the 190 the first year I flew WB, and it wasn't until I switched to the crippled 1.11 P-51 (nose bounce, wimpy guns, during the no structural limitations period, and all) that I really began to develop.

Maybe its just because I fly the 2 gun 190 but I dont seek HOs here. I know the 190 has good fire power but I would only gamble it against a 109 or a La5...the others have at least equal or equivilent firepower.
