Spawn Camping, I and many fellow GVers CANT STAND IT! A bunch of People sitting in the middle of no-
where waiting for tanks to magically appear. Lets face it, totally unrealistic. I think we should make a system
or rule that we can in force to prevent it. If u have any ideas I can put on the wishlist, or u just want to argue
with me, please respond

Waaaaaa!!!!!!!

Why not an option for spawning in + or - X number of yards with a variance left or right.  That way you can control and vary your spawn into the arena.  Might not stop the camping, but will make it much more difficult and un-predictable.

As it is now there isn't a particular "point" where all tanks spawn, there is an area of what seem to be points that the tanks randomly spawn at, if HTC wanted to increase that area or make the "randomness" more genuine that's fine with me.

As for you who cry about getting camped, well if you stop upping we'll stop shooting your dumb arse.  Would you guys prefer if we just sat in the tower drinking coffee and reading nudie magazines while you roll in on our base? (That was rhetorical, because I know that's what you tards would prefer.)

Upon spawning all GVs should be indestructable fo 30 seconds, then "IT'S ON LIKE DONKEY KONG"  :aok

Yea that's a reasonable solution, as long as for that first 30 seconds whenever the guy in the indestructible tank pulls the trigger a big flag that says "BANG" comes out the gun and nothing else.

There were a certain few knights the other day getting ticked because a base was trying to be taken. It was going to mess up thier "Camp / GV war"

As far as I'm concerned....I hope you Rooks and Bish find every spawn on the map and camp em....ALOT to.

After al the grief on country channel over taking a base....screw em.

Same whiney bastages that will be mad when they get no help winning the war.

I was one of the insightful  knights. that pointed out..... ... Its not A bloody accident that the ONLY vbase that gets captured is V88...  It just greifing mentality  pure and simple.

It had zero to do with winning the war. or base defence.

There would be NO camp if there were no uppers.

secondly, i do believe one of the tank commanders main strategys was to lay in wait for an unwary enemy tanker to come into his guns range, and pop it.

That's called "keyholing," and it entails proper selection of cover and anticipation of the enemies likely route of approach. In other words, it at least gives your opponent a chance to counter it. Spawn-camping is more like shooting them in the head while they sleep. This is like me defending vulchers by saying "well, a high-speed dive on an unwary foe is a historically legitimate tactic, it's called a bounce! Who cares if they're not even wheels-up yet?"

The best way to deal with spawn-campers is to realize that one man's camper is another man's sitting target. If you get camped, mention it on the comms, and somebody eager for an easy kill will up an IL-2 or something from the nearest airbase and scoot on over. Two can play that game.

Or, you know, you could keyhole using the buildings of your own base for cover to ambush incoming GVs, or even find a nice barn or what-have-you along the likely route of approach (i.e. a beeline from the nearest enemy Vbase) and play the game instead of griefing. If you really view ground vehicles as a mere accessory to the "real" game of yank-n-bank, (to keep hangars from being downed,) then just learn to dive-bomb and scare up a rear gunner on the voice chat.

So there wouldn't be any campers/vulchers if we didn't up vehicles? So we all just stay put in the tower, and that'll show 'em?  :headscratch:

Yes, you can up from a different Vbase further away, but ground vehicles take forever to get ANYWHERE, and a lot of people who play this game have work, school, or other vaguely-adult-like commitments that limit their time. I can respect that they don't want to pay $$$ every month to play "drive my tank around hedges for 80 minutes."

first off, spawn camping is here to stay....just learn to work around it.

secondly, i do believe one of the tank commanders main strategys was to lay in wait for an unwary enemy tanker to come into his guns range, and pop it.

What he said.......

Wanna go realistic?  Re-read above quote.

Ever do any "real" tanking, yourself?  It's not a boxing match where the opponents "duke it out" in the middle of a field.

It was/is all about (not a complete list)

1) Cover and concealment

2) Hull down positions

3) Hedgehog Defense

4) Fire and movement

5) Bound/Overwatch tactics

Other tactics such as Platoon fire (all tanks assaulting from different positions, but firing simultaneously) and platoon startup/shutdown (again simultaneously) as to hide their numbers so the enemy can't count how many attackers/defenders are there.

The tactics in the list are somewhat employable in AH2, but the last two items I mentioned are not as feasible due to lag, etc.

If you going for "real", how about instant repairs to your vehicle from supp that are dropped, turning down internal vehicle sounds to hear the other guy better or turning down graphic detail to see the enemy easier  (just for starters)?

It's your choice, and it's not rocket science.....

1) Once you realize that a spawn is camped DON'T KEEP UPPING INTO A CAMPED SPAWN (although the camper always appreciated a pelt dispenser)

2) Get a bomb and blow them to smithereens (which will make you a bomb tard, especially if you couldn't break the camp by using a GV, yourself)

3)  Get some buddies together and all spawn at the same time (the camper(s) can't shoot all of you at the same time)
