I personally would be interested in some sort of overview as to what the new damage modeling is going to be like.

I'm sure there will be quite a write up on the damage model when they release it. Of course if HTC wanted to fill us in a little ealry with the details, I wouldn't compain ;)

my guess is that is a skid instead of using a tail wheel, don't know the technical terms for it.

It's a Deffelmeyer device.  The pilots (in keeping with clarity and brevity) called it what it does...a skid.

When I was in Brussels last April I had the opportunity to visit the very well stocked military museum they have there.  One of their exhibits is a genuine F2B.  I'd always wondered whether the lower wing really was attached by a few nuts and bolts.  It was:
