No aeroengeneer either but I would suspect that if you fly at more or less stall speed ,which means you have a limited possiblity to move your stick/rudders to counter a sudden power increase like that, would very easily make your efforts to counter the power increase to acctually making things worse putting you into a stall/spin.
Bring on a Spitfire XIV, a Tempest V and a FW190D-9
Neither of them is a "uber"aircraft if modelled correctly, good aircrafts but no "uber"thingies.
