Host Connection Lost
« on: February 02, 2010, 03:32:02 PM »
Hey guys, I'm back into the game from a years+ hiatus. I have a new computer but randomly I'll get the "Host Connection Lost" message and the crash to desktop. I have a brand-new Gateway SX-2800. Windows 7 Home Premium, Intel Quad Core @ 2.88GHz, 1024MB ATI HD4350 DDR2, 4GB DDR3 RAM. Sometimes I'll get 30+ minutes of play before it pops up, but it happens at least every hour or so. I'm updating my video drivers right now, but what I find interesting is that I live in an apartment complex and my buddy plays on his HP laptop in the other room. We both have seperate connections, but when one of us gets it, sometimes the other will get it too. But then again sometimes it'll just happen to me or him and nothing else to the other person. I was thinking it was just our internet, but nothing else I use loses connection (Ventrilo, or MSN Messenger- and yes I've tried closing these beforehand). Thanks for any help or suggestions.

What kind and how many  background processes do you have running?

A DxDiag, if Win7 has them, might be helpful.
Far too many, if not most, people on this Board post just to say something opposed to posting when they have something to say.
