« on: February 03, 2010, 11:17:03 AM »
I've had Google Chrome for a while now and really like it. but starting yesterday it started downloading a Mp3 file called Pop.mp3 all by itself. i havnt opened it fearing spyware of virus, but its downloaded it about 6-7 times so far. I scanned it wit Macfee and it said it was clean but i dont trust it, anybody know how to stop it from downloading?

This doesn't appear to be a 'security' issue with Chrome, just a bug.

However do some research, there are MANY security issues with Chrome, just like other browsers. The most secure browser is still firefox with some of add-ons like selective script blocking.

viruses are not what concerns me with them.

google's worldwide goal of gathering, retaining, and facilitating personal information knows no bounds.  "don't be evil" indeed.  Anything google related that I ever took a look at scares the living crap out of me.... including chrome and Gmail...to name a few.

my answer....... don't go near it if you value your personal privacy.

I'm not getting rid of Pron.

I'd be far more concerned about what those pron sites are doing with the surprising amount of detail they can get every time you visit their site than anything Google has in the works. The only thing that concerns me about Google is the Government deciding one day it'd like all that data please thank you very much.
