One of the most ugly planes I've ever seen. Can't understand that someone likes this little ugly thing

BTW a I-16 324mph at SL?. I'll believe it when I see an official speed chart of it.

Daff,

As far as I can tell, no Rata's had cannon.

However, quite a few Ishak's did have cannon.

Fester is asking for an Ishak, not a Rata.

I liked the history of this plane so much I once built an R/C model of it in giant scale. Very few people recognized it, but that aside it was a great airplane. The only bad characterstic that I remember is landing it deadstick. If you flare then you're going to flip (snap). At least that was true for the model.

Very short nose moment on this plane and that is what leads to over-control from novices.

If I remember correctly, the I-16 had another serious control problem.. In addition to its extremely sensitive controls, the main gun trigger was so stiff that it seriously hindered the soviet pilots aim. They couldn't avoid bouncing the nose a little when trying to shoot, which saved the lives of many opponents.

They should take this into notice also if they bring the plane to AH.. =)

Would be a very nice addition to our planeset, but then again: AcesHigh is not going towards an early war plane set, at least not in some months, rather in years.
"And one of the finest aircraft I ever flew was the Macchi C.205. Oh, beautiful. And here you had the perfect combination of italian styling and german engineering .... it really was a delight to fly ... and we did tests on it and were most impressed." - Captain Eric Brown

I'm for more than just an "early war" planeset. I'm for a Spanish Civil War era planeset and terrain. That being the case ... the MOSCA is the choice. But then again ... an SCW arena needs super-bipes like the Chirri and the Chato.

I've been campaigning for such an online arena and planeset (in any sim) for quite sometime now.

I agree that AH need early and mid war plane set.

If HTC only could add 1 early war model for every 3 late one we could have lot of them already.

My hope is that soon we will get short of powerful late war planes, and more early war planes/variants will do in in to AH.
