Question about P-38L in AH
« on: December 20, 2000, 09:27:00 AM »
Does anyone know what the loaded weight of the P-38L with full internal fuel and ammo is? Also what is the total weight from ammo and fuel? Please be specific to the P-38L, America's hundred thousand only clearly breaks down the P-38J, and I already know the answer. No drop tanks!!

More importantly does anyone know what weight the AH P-38L is modeled at when fully loaded?

F4UDOA, I have a P-38 Pilots manual at home. I will check it if I can remember.

Question about P-38L in AH

Verm,

I have a copy of the manual too. The weight table in the back list three separate loadings. 17,400lbs, 19,400lbs and 21,400lbs for the P-38L. I can't seem to figure out which one represents 100% fuel and ammo.

There have been so many whines about the 38's performance I figured I would try to get to the bottom of the stall speed but if I don't know what 100% loading condition is, it is hard to say if the AH model is accurate or not.
