A couple of my squadmates (II/JG27 "Afrika") steered me in the right direction. I found the site and filled out the form last night. Just did receive the email confirmation and resubmitted same. Haven't done squat with my profile yet. Is there something else I need to do other than hurry up and wait?
FYI- You're dealing with someone who's closer to 60 than 50, so mental lapses, senility, and a lack of technical computer skills are prime factors for my ineptitude. "May the Good Lord have mercy on those who try to help."

Howdy, Saltee. Glad to have you playing in the scenario! And I have respect for you and your 50+ years. So don't worry at all about whatever you aren't familiar with in the system. We will get you going!
(Also, I am only about 10 years younger than you are.)
In the registration information, I don't see any word "Saltee". What is you AH handle? I can go by that as well. I assume (with a squad name of II/JG27) that you will be flying on the axis side, correct?
Also, if you do these steps, you can make sure that your information is on the ahevents.org site.

http://ahevents.org-- Click on "Edit/view profile" listed in the menu along the left side of the page.
-- Check that your AH handle is listed as "AH in-game ID" and that "Saltee" is listed as "HTC's Forum ID".
-- If not, please click on "Update Your Profile" and fill in those two ID's.
