Isn't the first one really the last one?  I have only watched 2 Star Wars movies, so IDK.

the first one, from 78. then the next one. Then stop. Keep the Muppets out of Star Wars, they belong in AH  :bolt:

Aah thats a tough call. Even though I really dont care for the prequels at all, they will probably fill in the plot and any questions that would arise. Let us know which order you do choose though.

You could say "This is how we all had to watch them." and then show them in that order.

As an alternative, you could show him family guys blue harvest. But thats likely not appropriate for that age. :)

As for the order, I would say 4, 5, 6 and skip 1-3, they were (personally) just bad and 4-6 explains most everything decently. :)

He might like Episode 1 because of the kid Anakin and the mutated frog/rabbit thing, but I'd start with Episode 4

I would show him the Original Trilogy. And I mean the ORIGINAL Trilogy, before George went and mangled it (love that two-disc edition. Although I DO wish they'd have at least used the THX remasters on it....). They're on their own if they want to watch the Prequels. I'm probably going to burn my copies....

Episode 4, definitely

Otherwise, you lose a lot of the effect of the movie experience.  Who was this Obi Wan fellow and where did he come from?.. what were the Jedi like?, .. etc.  Learning that through the eyes of Luke was a big part of the attraction.

And, of course, the impact of Darth being 'big daddy'. Still remember when that line hit in the theatre.. Whoa...

Is it your 6-year-old?  If not, then do an experiment for us, and start at 1, and find out the reaction, and report back here.  If it IS your 6-year-old, raise him or her right and start with Episode 4, and end it there until they're 13.

This is the Captain.  We have a lil' problem with our entry sequence so we may experience some slight turbulence and then... explode.
