Woodstock version is the best, it never appeared on a studio record.   Zack Wylde's version was awesome, IIRC at an LA Kings game.

National anthems in general are pretty great, as you would expect. Of course you're familiar with the Star Spangled Banner. Russia's national anthem has got to be one of the best. Das Deutchlandlied (Germany) and La Marseillaise (France) are fantastic as well.

Why???

Because I like to hear music, not people clapping and screaming.

Theme from the Armageddon soundtrack....good stuff.  Also if you have any of the old Tom Clancy rainbow six game cd's there were some good (although) short dramatic music tracks on them.
The fight is the fun........Don't run from the fun!

I bought the CD there.   The Regimental Band of the Scots Guards did (in order):  Dixie, Semper Fidelis, New York, New York, The Battle Hymn of the Republic, Stars and Stripes Forever.   It was a powerful segment of the show and my eyes watered.  But seeing grown men crying, is not easy to "hold back" and I barely did.

If either ever come around to the US again, I'd recommend anyone attend.

Wow, I'd like to hear that, I tried searching to find any version they did of them but can't seem to find one.  What's the name of the CD?  I might have to order that, those are some of my favorite pieces.

I have a big collection of Jimi Hendrix stuff that I downloaded and it has a studio version of the Star Spangled Banner, at least credited to him... I think it's 4 independently recorded guitar tracks, and none of the rest of the Experience plays on it, and it sounds more like Yngwie Malmsteen... it's incredibly cheesy.
The Woodstock version is the best.

What he said.

It was live, spontaneous, and from the heart.

Why ruin that moment?

Music is not always about the quality of the recording
