For several years now, I've had a terrible time falling asleep.

I've used Tylenol "Simply Sleep" with much success.

I'm pretty sure the dose is 2 tablets, I only use one.

Within 40 minutes or so, its morning already!

Works great for me.

tylenol has a few negative side affects that you dont want to deal with... like constant use over the years gives you cancer

I found that smoking a cig helped me to to sleep, hehehe   :x

Seriously I had some falling alseep issues, I took up jogging and it helped alot.  I work in an office though, so got no exercise.  Seems like it might be different for you as you actually work for living, so doesn't sound like an exercise problem.

Smoking grass never helped me on that end, absolute opposite affect.   :rock

I tried some over the counter Diphenhydramine when I was having trouble falling asleep.  I wasn't real impressed with it.  Recommended dosage was 50 mg, tried it and even doubled it once to give it a shot.  I didn't feel like I fell asleep much faster but I did get an odd feeling of being tired but my body still wanted to move.

A quick note, exposing yourself to bright lights can trick your brain and wake it up.  So if you spend a couple minutes in front of your bright bathroom lights getting ready for bed, it may take longer for your brain to slow back down.

I spent almost 5 years in Iraq, when I came home I had problems sleeping.  Sleeping with generators running, helicopters flying over at all times of the night, and gunfire in the back ground, along with mortar attacks.  I got so used to it that I could not fall asleep when it was quiet.  So I figured just turn the TV on, it worked for me.  I actually slept thru a mortar attack a few times.

My right leg was shattered just below the hip about 5 1/2 years ago.  I have constant pain issues, which also have made sleeping rough.  I used 50mg of Diphenhydramine (Benadryl) for awhile.  It definitely helps me to fall asleep, but doesn't help me stay asleep through the pain.

A few months ago, my Doctor gave me a script for Lunesta.  It has really helped me.  I don't take it every night, but the nights that I do take it it definitely makes a difference.

As for cost, 30 doses costs me $30, but I'm not sure how much of the cost is covered by my insurance.

Not sure what you mean about having something attached to you?
It's a common treatment for people with serious sleep apnea...CPAP ventilator machine...if your quack didn't try to put you on one, your apnea condition may not be that bad.

Not gonna do it...doesn't help you actually sleep, just keeps you breathing so your sleep doesn't get disturbed through the night.
