A hint for anybody who gets to anywhere near a WW2 fighters cockpit. If you cannot/are not allowed to climb in put the digital camera where the pilots headrest is and take a picture. There are tons of pictures of gauges and stuff already but only a few of what is the actual view the pilot sees through the windscreen. After all that is what we see the most in a game. ;)

Trojan/Fury,

thanks for this thread! I love the Spit, one of the most beautiful airplane ever, and the VIII, to me, is the most beautiful of them all! And I even fly it with that skin, in game! Can't wait to see more pictures! :x

Charge already posted an interesting link to a video where a Spit cockpit can be seen with pilot in flight:

hey fury i have a question for ya  :) i see that you guys have a rolls-royce for that thing, i know the spits came with those motors, but was it in the plane when you guys decided to restore it or did you have to look around and find one? also how hard was it to find parts to rebuild the motor im sure they werent exactly readily available lol

my cousins husband works for RR at Filton, he tells me the Merlin and Griffon are still officially supported by RR although what that means exactly in terms of parts and rebuilds I dont know. So they have a PR MkXIX as a company runabout! apparently they are are also in the process of rebuilding a MkXIV, not sure when it will be finished.
