Turbulence, from both other A/C and rockets..in quoting the "Death Rattlers" book from William Wolf:

During this (Corsair, Close Air Support) mission, USMC and LIFE magazine photographer David Duncan strapped himself into a modified aux-tank with a plexigalss nose which was attached to the port wing of a USAAF Lockheed F-5E  (Photo-recon P38).  For the most dramatic  photographic effect, Duncan had requested the F-5 pilot to place him 40-50 feet behind the F4U when it fired its rockets.  However, when the F4U salvo'd its rockets, the turbulence was so great that the F-5 was blown on it right wing and then headed down.  It was momentarily knocked out of control, and nearly crashed inot the target ridge before recovering.

Turbulence doesnt have its place in a sim like this till we get Force Feedback. I fly gliders (where you REALLY feel the turbulence) and they key word is FEEL, just seeing the screen share around without the accomyning motion would probably make you nautious

Only turbulence I want is prop wash...

We have the smoke trails for individual engines, which are roughly the size of the prop...

So say they follow pretty much the same path as the smoke would do...if your plane comes in contact with the wash your plane pitchs some and shakes a bit.

I've heard that after a group of B-17's took off from the English bases during WWII, it was like taking off into a hurricane with all that turbulent air.

Wing drops, accelerated stalls...ahhhh. And yet another weapon for buffs and the "I'm out of ammo!" crowd.

Only possible bug I see is people landing at an enemy runway after the ack is down, parking reversed to a spawn point, and blowing over planes as they tried to take off

I had the pleasure(?) of taxing behind the B-17 'Thunder Bird' on more then one occasion at Scholes field. Those dang things will blow a small plane backwards if you aren't careful.

Lol.. if that was modeled i'd take rockets up every time. If I get bounced id just wait till the guy gets close, fire the full rocket salvo and watch my bouncer "turbulent" to his death.. muahahahah

I thing this would be an excellent feature elevating realism levels in AH to new heights.

In RL there's no way you could "stay" on a "dead 6" of another plane due to wake turbulence, the amount of unhappy air a B17 was generating would probably just blow a fighter away (not that it's a good idea to stay on 17's "dead 6" anyway ). Addition of wake turbulance would force people to make more calculating and skilled approach to killing mayhem Bring it on! (as well as wind - pretty please?)

I'd just like to see a nice little shudder when a plane stalls. Kinda like the WBs overspeed shake, only side-to-side and for a few seconds. That'd be great. Tie that in with Force-Feedback and you'd really have fun.
