The look on his mothers face when he walked in the door..............Priceless!!!!!!    :O

P.S. He is a combat engineer assigned to 29 palms. He is part of a route clearance team that  for I.E.D.s. in the roadway.   :salute

I hope you have a great visit with your son. Tell him thanks from an old Tanker.  :salute

BTW if you know the date he returns from overseas (assuming he's coming back to your area) contact the local Patriot Guard and ask them to do a welcome home. They can meet him in the airport terminal with a bunch of cheering folks, lots of flags and thanks for his service. They might also give him a motorcycle escort back to his base or home. The PGR has a web site and local contact can be made though the web site and or e-mail. I've talked to a lot of returning troops and they appreciate the welcome home and the show of support for their sacrifices.

The above goes for ALL US troops and their families. If you know a soldier (generic term for all services) that is heading out or returning home the PGR will be happy to escort or show up to let them know they are appreciated. It's free.
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

thats awesome mojo, it's great that he returned home safety.  I lost one of my good friends and the best person I ever knew in Iraq.  He always pressed his uniform, his house was always spotless, he didn't drink, do any drugs/tobacco, and always ate healthy food.  Most of all he was very religious and loved God.  Please read his story and remember him.

Thats great wojo! A classic surprise and definitely priceless!

Much better than my buddy's surprise of not telling his parents he had joined the marine corps until he asked his mum for a ride to the airport to deploy to iraq...
