There's been some discussion in the Dueling Bracket Results thread about segmenting European players to help with the time zone differential between the Americas and Europe.
My question for players not based in the Americas is would you be more likely to participate in the dueling bracket if this was the case?
This would be an optional choice. If you didn't opt in for a specific region of the world then you'de be placed randomly with the rest of the bracket.
I've included an example of how this might work below using a portion of the current bracket. I this example I've included three major regions of the world; Americas (listed as US), European (listed as Euro) and Eastern (listed as Asia). For simplicity I just advanced the top player in each bracket. Slots would still be pre-allocated to balance the bracket and, other than this general segmentation, players would be selected randomly to fill the slots.
As you can see the brackets eventually merge and the time differentials need to be dealt with but by fewer players and it lets those outside the Americas have a few rounds playing at more comfortable times. In the example below the Euro/Asian players would merge into the bracket with the Americas players during the quarterfinal round.

If it helps to gain more players to the tournaments then I'll implement something like this. If there's little to no interest then I won't add to my workload.
