GA Plane crash in Austin, TX
« on: February 18, 2010, 11:29:20 AM »
AUSTIN, TX -- Authorities say a small private plane has crashed into a seven-story office building in Austin, Texas.
Black smoke was coming from the second and third stories of the the Echelon Building Thursday morning as fire crews using ladder trucks and hoses battled the fire. People had evacuated the building and were standing in the parking lot.
The Echelon Building is around 17 miles from the main Austin airport.

Dawn Clopton, a division chief with the Austin Fire Department, says two people from the building are unaccounted for. She says it was a small private plane that crashed. The building is located on a major highway in the city.

A witness told Eyewitness News that he saw the plane flying low over Highway 183 before banking to the right directly into the building. The AP is reporting that this doesn't appear to be terrorism.

My girl just sent this to me:

"The man who crashed the plane into the building set his house on fire first, then went and stole the airplane, and crashed it into the building which happens to have IRS offices located inside it."

Allegedly

First I heard was disgruntled software guy pissed off at the IRS and Government. He posted a manifesto of sorts saying he had enough of taxation without representation.

There saying it was his plane, that it's not stolen.  He left a 6 page suicide note on a website, apparently he was mad at the government, he called it big brother.

Read his manifesto. It's totally political.

So much for this thread.  :salute

No link to the manifesto or website at all here. Noting something that just happened is not necessarily political discussion for the board unless you wish to discuss his topic in general

Piper 150. Guy burnt his house down, fire trucks dispatched there. Drove to the airport, circled the building... and missed the one he was aiming for.

Somebody found his anti-government manifesto shortly after.

I thought he was aiming for the building with the IRS office, so what building was he aiming for then?
