I enjoy the majority of rock & roll music (especially heavily blues influenced rock) from the 1950's-1980... I don't really care much for hair metal (actually I hate hair metal with a passion) or a lot of the stuff that came after it. I do like Maiden and AC/DC and a lot of Judas Priest though. I also listen to straight blues some... I like Bob Dylan, particularly pre-motorcycle accident... among other artists from a range of styles. However that's the stuff I like to listen to the majority of the time.

I have a vast array of likes when it comes to music....more if I like it, I like...I have no preference to any particular genre.....I do however have a leaning towards a  bit of drum and beats with violin over the top....much like how rappers do it except my rapper is a violin.

Been listening to a lot of Gogol Bordello lately, and a slightly old band called Neutral Milk Hotel, oh, and the Magnetic Fields.  Brilliant stuff. 

I really don't like top 40 stuff in the slightest, and I despise a lot of it.

Been working on a scale of music suckage lately, gonna call it the Bolton Scale.  It'll be graduated 1 to 10 and have decimal points to the tenth.  A really bad song, so bad that it just becomes funny that is sucks so bad would be in the 7.0 to 8.0 range.  So bad it makes you angry (or is a Nickelback songs) is 8.0 to 9.0 range.   You get the idea.  A perfect 10 is only a theoretical level of suck, like absolute zero is a theoretical level of cold. 

It could still use some flushing out, and anyone who wants is welcome to chip in and help.  It's a public domain idea says me! 

Any random Celine Dion song will rank just about 8.5 Boltons.  See how that works, it's great!

Since seeing the last music video of Lady Gaga "Bad Romance" I got traumatized enough to never listen to this kind of music ever again (top 10 popular radio kind of stuff).

I'm a new musician so I discovered a lot of new genres and styles lately. But I stick to listening to a mix of:

Classical (mostly Tchaikovsky) and Movie/Trailer (John Williams/James Horner) songs;
House/Electro/Trance (Klass, Deadmau5, Juno Reactor, etc.);
2000-2005 rock(Jimmy Eat World,Celldweller,etc);
Not really much into Rap or HipHop because sadly, my English is not good enough to understand most of what is said;
Latin...I'm learning Salsa dance so its fun to link both;
Jazz/blues... hmm, hard to say, there some real good classics there but i'm too young to taste it like some of you do.
Don't listen to techno, pop, hardcore (except a couple of Michael Jackson's) as they lack pieces reaching all the way down your spine or makes you want to "go with the flow".

My colletion of around 2000 cd's has almost every type of music except for country, religious and swedish dansband (sorry maniac ) Ive been into different kinds of music from early teens and up to now. Right now I find myself listening alot to bands like NOFX, Rancid, Decendents, Pennywise, Dead Kennedys, Green Day and a few more. I try to get in atleast one hour of music enjoyment every day in my favorite spot.

I love music and thankfully the missus has no problem with that

I have always loved that Peter Schilling song, it's great.   That Diaspora is not too bad, sort of a jazz/lounge with a hair of techno mixed in, not sure where you'd get more of that though.  If you dig some lounge music, check out Richard Cheese, he's like the all time king of lounge jazz song covers, great stuff.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aBOpk33VlSg

As for the Megadeath, I liked them really well right up until they put out Symphony of Destruction.  That was like Metallica's Black album to me, marking the exact place where they totally went to crap.

Hes been around for awhile now, they take alot of "popular" music and perform them in a lounge setting.

Any classic punk fans here?  I've been listening to the Clash's "D.O.A." a lot recently.  It's mostly demos and live stuff from around the time of their first album and it's pretty great. 
It's aimed more at the completists as it has multiple versions of the same songs and some studio chatter but some real interesting stuff. 

You can see also how some songs were built from the ground up as some of the early versions don't have the backing vocals the finished versions have.  But all of the demos here can stand on their own, highly recommended for the Clash fan.

Richard Cheese is absolutely fantastic.  I enjoy a wide variety myself, and he certainly makes my list.

Being a musician has given me an appreciation of all music that is weel done, but that doesnt mean I like it all, at the moment I have two cd's in high rotation at home, one is The Black Crows greatest hits the other is Blood Sugar Sex Magic by the Red Hot Chille Peppers. Aquick scan of my collection shows Muddy Waters, SRV, Mettalica, Hill Top Hoods, The Infectious Grooves and Johnny Winter all near the top of the pile which means they've been played recently. So in summing up, I guess I'm into raucus guitars.

Add a large collection of Frank Zappa vinyl that gets dragged out from time to time.
