Wireless keyboard issues
« on: February 20, 2010, 09:42:08 AM »
I have the Microsoft wireless keyboard 1000.  For the past few days, after about an hour and a half online I start having issues.  When I press ESC to bring up the map, the computer reacts as if I pressed the "Windows" button.  It'll bring up or take down the map, but it'll also take me out of the game into Windows.  Also, I can open the text box by pressing "/" but no characters show up when I type.  With the game still open I can open a browser and type a web address, so it appears the wireless connection is good (which it should the receiver is 6 inches from the keyboard).  If I totally shut down the game and re-enter it works normally...for another hour or so.

Thoughts?

Thanks

Gear

Also, running Windows 7 w/ Intel i5, 6GB of RAM, 512 video card, 750 GB hard drive.  Don't know if you need that info, but there ya go.

Thx

Are you using the batteries that came with the keyboard if they were packaged with it?  Some keyboards come with the Manufacturer batteries and they are cheap and nearly dead.

Just a thought.

Turns out it must've been some sort of RF interference between the keyboard and the receiver.  I moved the receiver away from the computer and I haven't had any issues since.

Thanks for the replies.
